Fire

WELCOME

Our goal is to clearly communicate the ongoing disagreement between the West Liberty Volunteer Fire Department, Rural Townships Trustees, and the City of West Liberty, urging the public to hold the City accountable for stalling the creation of a joint agency and failing to update the 28-E agreement. The goal is to rally public support, demand transparency, and ensure that  resources for fire and EMS services are used appropriately under the management of a joint agency.

The Issue:

The City of West Liberty has been stalling for years on the creation of a fair and transparent joint agency to manage fire and EMS services, despite the clear need for action. The City’s refusal to update the 28-E legal agreement and share control over resources is risking public safety and mismanaging resources meant for the volunteer fire department and EMS services.

Take Action!

Community members can help by demanding that the City of West Liberty immediately stop stalling and negotiate a fair and updated 28-E agreement that creates a joint agency to oversee fire and EMS services.

Public pressure is the only way to hold the City accountable for its actions and ensure resources are managed fairly.
